The easiest way to cook steel cut oats… in minutes
First and foremost, place water and steel cut oats in the Instant Pot. Can’t have a meal without the main ingredient! Give it a stir so that the oats aren’t all in one spot and so the water covers most of the grains.
Place the lid on and turn the knob to sealed; hit manual, changing the time to 4 minutes at high pressure. If using a LUX model, HP is the only option.

Let pressure release naturally (for at least a couple of minutes) to lock in the moisture, then release any leftover pressure to be able to eat it and head out the door.
When you open the lid the oats will look super watery. Give it a good mix and water will absorb the rest of the way into the oats.
Spoon the oatmeal into bowls to eat at home and top with your favorite toppings and seasonings OR add it into a wide-mouth mason jar with one of these (ad) storage jar lids to run out the door in a flash.
