Fruit Cinnamon Roll Poppers
While the majority of the time I supply healthier alternatives and talk about healthy eating and living, I also discuss how part of life is enjoying the 80/20 rule where you can indulge 20% of the time and not be “perfect 100% of the time. These are one of those times. While the fruit is obviously healthy, the cinnamon rolls are what you make them. These fruit cinnamon roll poppers are delicious and a great summertime, breakfast time, or anytime snack and dessert.

Creative ways to make homemade cinnamon roll treats
I have made homemade cinnamon rolls in the past and they were delicious and well worth the time. However, sometimes, it’s worth just buying a pre-made can. And in this case, I wanted to make something quick and easy that we could enjoy in the mornings and it not just be a carb and something my daughter would enjoy, but also something I could make as a dessert when we have cookouts this summer.
Ingredients & Supplies needed to make store bought cinnamon rolls look like a homemade treat
– 1 Can of Cinnamon Rolls (8 count)
– 1.5 cups fruit of your choice
– Icing (optional)
– Cast Iron Pan/Skillet
– 1 or 1.5 ounce Metal Ramekins

How to make Cinnamon Roll Poppers
Step 1 – Lay out each cinnamon roll with the cinnamon side up on your baking sheet. We typically bake on cast iron or stone ware.
Step 2 – Prepare your fruit. I used a mellon baller to cap my strawberries and pit my cherries. Then I put them in metal bowls. I used a 1 ounce metal ramekin to help make the serving size. (You can also use a 1 ounce drink jigger.

Step 3 – You can use your hand or the bottom of the metal ramekin to make a divot inside of the dough. Then place your fruit servings (1-1.5 ounces each).

Step 4 – Pull the side of the cinnamon roll up around the sides, pinching it together. You might even twist the top just a bit. Once pulled together, turn it over, placing the closed opening on the bottom of the pan. This ensures they not only stay together and cook better, but also that the most dough as at the bottom.
Step 5 – Bake for 10-12 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit or until the top is golden brown. If you desire to put icing on top, drizzle, and put back in the oven after you’ve turn it off for another minute or two.

Step 6 – ENJOY! These cinnamon roll poppers make a great treat, quick breakfast, or simple homemade-style dessert without the time commitment.
