Witch Fingernail Halloween Snack

The smell of melted chocolate is one that fills my memories of the holidays, but not necessarily Halloween. In fact, Halloween has this eerie place between fresh baked goods of Thanksgiving and terrified nights after horror movies. Nonetheless, it’s one to have fun with, especially now as an adult. Here is a fun twist on an old favorite snack to make these spooky, creepy, and downright delicious witch fingernails!

Whether you call them muddie buddies, puppy chow, or by some other adorable and confusing snack name, these are an irresistible sweet snack. The big twist is that instead of using square chex mix, we used Bugles! You know, the salty little chips we all pretended were fingers as kids? Now we get to pretend they’re witch fingernails as adults!

And let me tell you, they’re delicious.

Even more than the squares. Why you ask? Because they are cones and they hold in more of the delicious goodness that the chocolate, peanut butter, and confectioner’s sugar hold. There is also more snacking surface. All-in-all, one of my favorite ideas for a snack to date. And it’s so simple, just a unique spin on it!

What you need for Witch Fingernail and Skeleton finger Halloween Snacks

1 Bag of Bugles
1 jar of plain, creamy peanut butter
1 bag of milk chocolate chips
1 bag powdered sugar
A gallon freezer bag

Pour all of your bugles into a large bowl, dumping the peanut butter on top. I mixed it with a large spatula. Then I melted my chocolate chips on Medium heat. (I added 3 tablespoons of butter, but that’s optional).

Pour chocolate over the mix and blend as best as possible.

In a gallon freezer bag, add powdered sugar (about a coup or so) and then add around half of the bugle mix. Shack, rattle, and roll. (Actually just shake) the bag. You can pinch between the “witch fingers” to make sure they’re adequately covered). Add powdered sugar as needed.

Continue until done and enjoy.
