With cold weather on the horizon, many of us are about to start experiencing snow or are already there! Today, Amber from Because Babies Grow Up is guest posting all about snowmen! This includes snowmen crafts, activities, books, and more! I hope you enjoy, and don’t forget to stop by Amber’s site, explore a little, and thank her!
Hi! I’m Amber and I write at Because Babies Grow Up. I love being around little children. They are so fun to play with and to observe as they discover the beauties of each new season. As we are heading into the winter season and experiencing snow, we have had lots of snowman play. To set the stage for the crafts and activities included in this post, here’s a fun and easy-to-learn snowman poem with finger puppets.
5 Little Snowmen
5 little snowmen standing in a row (hold up 5 fingers)
Each with a hat (pat head) and a big red bow (pull at neck like a bow tie)
Along came the sun (arms form big circle over head)
and it shone all day (lean to the left)
And one of those snowmen melted away! (put down one finger)
Repeat until all the snowmen have melted away.
You can find the full 5 Little Snowmen poem here. Plus there’s a free printable to make snowman finger puppets to use in sharing this poem with the little ones in your life. Download the snowmen finger puppets here.

Growing Book by Book shares a favorite snowman book, Snowmen at Night, along with snowman activities they are doing.
No Time For Flashcards shares several books about snowmen, but my personal favorite that she includes in Snow Party, all about the first snow of winter and how the snowmen celebrate.
Where ever you are, whether you have snow or not, I hope these snowman crafts, activities and books will help your little ones experience the wonders of winter.
