A huge part of teaching our children about the environment is helping them understand a healthy respect for recycling and gardening. Because when you boil down Earth Day and preserving our Earth, it’s all bout how we grow our food that we eat and how we utilize resources. So here are some of our favorite books for Earth day and on the topic of gardening for kids of all ages!

Books about the Planet & Gardening
Peek Inside the Garden – This is a really cute book for young kids and early readers because it has lots of flaps to lift and explore. You might find bees behind flowers and other great aspects of the garden. This can foster discussion about the importance of bees and how life thrives and revolves around the garden.
Gardening for Beginners – This books is seriously a fabulous guide even for adults. It as so many awesome ideas and in-depth information. This would be a great resource for any home.
Why Should I Recycle? – In depth look at recycling and how the items we use can impact the Earth. While it is most suitable for older kids, I have read some of the fun facts inside of it to my toddler to facilitate discussions about recycling.
Why Should I Bother About the Planet? – Just like the recycling book, this one is great on just understand how small actions can have big impact (in both good and bad ways). Discusses recycling and conserving and lots of topics on how to be more thoughtful and sustainable in the way we live.
See inside Planet Earth – Not only is this a great book to see the Earth as a whole, it actually discusses some of the challenges the environment and Earth as a whole faces and the steps we can do to make even a small difference!
