I am not perfect. I strive to be, but I am not. In fact, I am a recovering perfectionist if we’re going to be really honest. It’s a hard thing to admit as a blogger and in these social media driven days of facebook, instagram, and pinterest. So I encourage you to start sharing your photos of imperfection no matter what is is with the hashtag #TheImperfectMom to help normalize reality.
So I have started a hashtag for all of the “normal” moms and all of the women who don’t necessarily have it all together. Maybe your house is messy, maybe you don’t craft, and maybe life is chaotic. Share your real life pictures and moms on facebook, instagram and social media with #theimperfectmom.
This is an effort to help us relate to one another to moms. I know that as a blogger, I take pictures of my food pretty much every day and make it look beautiful, when in reality it’s just a meal and it’s nourishing us. But sometimes meals aren’t beautiful, and sometimes it’s a struggle to potty train, and sometimes you have a pinterest fail.
Relish in those imperfections and celebrate what it means to be a great mom… and I promise you, it’s not necessarily based on how many crafts you do or how clean your house is.
