Oklahoma weather & climate is known to be somewhat unpredictable and most definitely extreme. It is another part of our history and heritage that has shaped us through the years. It is important for students to understand how the weather changes across the state and how it has shaped us as people and our history as a state.

Identifying drought prone areas comes in handy when learning about the Dust Bowl while learning about tornadoes is an important safety lesson to have as Oklahomans in general. Along with Geography, Oklahoma weather and climate are important building block to learning all of the state’s history.
