What’s Inside
- 100 days of copywork, organized into weekly sets
- Every sentence copied word for word, and mark for mark, from the original public domain text, never paraphrased or simplified
- Sourced from four classics: The Tale of Peter Rabbit, Winnie-the-Pooh, The House at Pooh Corner, and The Wind in the Willows
- Sentences grow from short and simple to longer and richer as the collection goes on, so it grows with your student
- Practice lines under every sentence, or use your own notebook paper and repurpose the lines for a quick reflection or a note of feedback instead
More about the Packet
Real sentences carry real grammar. A student copying “First he ate some lettuces and some French beans; and then he ate some radishes” isn’t just about body mechanics for practicing letter formation, they’re looking at punctuation marks living inside of real books. An exclamation point becomes a chance to ask what a character is feeling in that moment. Grammar and style get absorbed through the hand and from experiencing books and sentences, not simply drilled from a worksheet.
This collection grew out of real, everyday handwriting practice with my own kids to practice consistent upper and lowercase sizing, making sure a letter like “y” actually sits below the line, and leaving real space between words. Copywork is a quiet, steady way to work on exactly that while enjoying good works of literature.
Grade Range
Grades 1 through 5. Younger students can copy half a sentence, or split a longer one across two days. Older students are encouraged to copy the full sentence, punctuation and all, in one sitting.
Format
Digital download. Print at home, no prep required.
