The day finally arrived. My brand new, shiny, hyped up instant pot arrived at my doorstep. I was so giddy. And as much as I wanted one and had heard about them I found the manual completely overwhelming. I also kind of regretted not doing some research to find out how to use an electric…
When looking at ways to teach your 2 and 3 year olds, scissors may be the last thing you want to equip them with. Visions from a horror movie flash through your mind involving your own toddler, your furniture, and a pair of scissors. I get it. But let them cut. Let them learn to…
Thank you Workman Publishing, for sponsoring this post. Pick up your copy of the new fifth edition What To Expect When You’re Expecting anywhere books are sold. Through piles of books, countless scholarly articles, and multiple discussions with my husband, we made hard decisions before the birth of our first child. And the second one came along…
I absolutely abhor spiders with every ounce of hot blood running through my body. However, my young children love all things that creep and crawl, so a spider thematic unit was a perfect impromptu learning week! Even if my own skin was crawling while making the printable pack and teaching them the fun, awesome, and really…
Every day I would wake up and feel like I was in a fog. I would shuffle around the house, robotically fulfilling the needs of my kids. And somehow I was not caring for myself. I am not sure if it’s because I didn’t know how to, didn’t want to admit it, or was too…

I sat in the living room explaining to my almost 4 year old that I was sorry. Sorry I lost my temper. Sorry that I let something little get in between her and I. Sorry for not prioritizing her over something trivial. In those moments of regret, both she and I learned something. She learned…

With just 5 minutes of active prep time, you can literally have this delicious and easy pasta dish on the dinner table 20 minutes from right now. My daughter can easily add and subtract; however she only consistently can identify numbers 1, 3, and 8. She’s ready to learn more in depth concepts and topics; however, her learning style and needs dictate what we can do. So instead of spend a lot of money on a pre-constructed kindergarten curriculum kit, I did my…
It’s noon and my daughter is on her 17th piece of paper and has somehow misplaced her crayon 4 times already today. While appropriate at any time of year, back to school season and the start of a new semester are both great times to implement or re-approach the idea of responsibility. And it’s a…
