Hi, I’m Kara — a former high school teacher turned homeschool mom of six, with a degree in Secondary Education and a heart for helping families thrive.
After my time in the classroom and a lot more around the kitchen island, I’ve created curriculum, printables, and book studies that are both academically rich and family-friendly. My mission is to make living a rich, educational life simpler, more connected, and full of meaningful learning experiences.
In our home, summer isn’t just a break from learning — it’s a chance to lean into the kind of stories that spark imagination, build character, and bring us closer together whether we’re 4 or 44.
I believe that novel studies are one of the best ways to create meaningful, low-pressure learning in the summer months. They give us a rhythm to our days and opportunities for connection.

The Wild Robot
Kara’s Wild Robot movie/novel study has blown us away!
It’s engaging, thought provoking, and adaptable for all ages! I can’t wait to do the many activities inside with my 6 children.

Pollyanna
This study is FANTASTIC! I grew up on classic movies and Pollyanna was a family favorite. The glad game is something that I’ve used throughout childhood to now (although not verbatim,ha!).
When I saw the novel at a thrift store I didn’t hesitate to pick it up for my daughters to read. Not only does Kara provide excellent reading comprehension and critical thinking portions, my favorite section was the personal reflection questions/essay portion and the “Glad Game Simulation.”
It also broadened my ideas of subjects that can be taught with classic literature. The STEM Lab is way outside my wheelhouse, but the step the step instructions and examples make it much less intimidating! It’s easy to tailor to different ages while still allowing for my 8&10 year olds to learn together.
