I am a cloth diaper addict. That much is true. In fact, my husband asked me just this week what the worst part of cloth diapering was. I told him that I honestly could not think of what the worst part was, because I do really love it. (Then again, I don’t like when I have to strip them, but that’s another story). In the end, over the past two years, we have accumulated a wonderful stash of diapers and invited some diapers into our home, just to ask them to leave soon after. I am always up for trying new diapers to see if they fit our family and therefore, I was so excited to be asked to review the brand new FuzziBunz One-Size Diapers that was released August 2014! And while I did receive these diapers in exchange for a review, all opinions are solely my own. See what I thought below!
I have to first admit two things. The first is that I was not a fan of the previous FuzziBunz sized diapers. I don’t know why, but they just were not easy for me to use. The second thing I must admit is that I destashed almost all of my pockets about a year ago because I declared “I will only put the work in for a pocket if it puts the work in for me!”.
Well ladies and gentlemen, I must admit a third thing. I DO really like this new design from FuzziBunz, and these are a pocket diaper I can absolutely stand behind. One of my big qualms with most pockets is that they are bulky. I prefer slim-fitting cloth diapers, and the new FuzziBunz One-Size diapers fits that mold. I can easily get a pair of jeans on my daughter and not have to go a size up like I do with most pockets.
I was sent two different once size diapers, a small (7-30lbs) and a large (10-45lbs). In all of the pictures, the lighter green is the small and the darker green is the large. My sweet daughter is right around 21-22 pounds and was a perfect fit in between the two. Both fit her well after adjusting the leg elastic. (Personally, I love the fit of the small the best. Again, it’s very trim, hugs her legs, and gets the job done).
A few things I really like about both diapers:
- Hip snaps. Really, they are such an important part of diapering with a good fit and so few diapers seem to have them anymore.
- Leg Adjusters. With the impending arrival of baby number two, I know that her legs are not going to be the same size as my daughters, so having the flexibility to use the same diapers on both children without it being a huge size issue is a win in my book.
- Inserts that have wings. I believe the website calls these “contoured, microfiber terry cloth inserts”. While I am not a huge fan of microfiber in general, I do love the new FuzziBunz inserts because they have the wings that extend into the side of the diaper. This just means better coverage and in the end, that’s what we all want most out of a cloth diaper, right?
Both diapers held up well at night and we very comfortable for my daughter during the day. And in the end, no leaks or messes for me and a happy girl is a good day in my book.
